The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education equips future educators to design and implement classroom experiences for all K-6 learners. Clinical Experiences
Supervised clinical experiences are embedded throughout the program. These experiences are intentionally diverse, spanning different grade levels and school environments each semester.
On-Campus Lab Schools
You'll have ample opportunities to collaborate with teachers and students at our on-campus lab schools, the Early Childhood Learning Lab and the Roberts Academy, a school for children with dyslexia and other reading difficulties.
Specializations
Choices of education specializations include STEM education, social-emotional learning, and the Orton-Gillingham approach – an evidence-based reading instruction method recognized for its efficacy with students facing dyslexia and related reading challenges.

- Academic interest inventory
- Provide official transcripts of all academic work taken previously at other colleges, universities, or professional schools.
- If fewer than 25 credit hours have been earned from a regionally accredited college or university, student should provide official high school transcript or GED scores.

I need help enrolling in a class.
Portal: Through the 鈥淧ortal,鈥 you can register for classes, pay for classes online, view your student account, transcripts, course schedules, course descriptions, assignments, grades, GPA calculator, faculty information and attendance. To log onto the Portal you will need to know your student ID number and password. To reset your portal password, you must call the Help Desk at 863.616.6426. If you have difficulties registering online, please contact the Registrar鈥檚 office by email at registrar@flsouthern.edu, or call 863.680.4127.

I need help planning my schedule. Who should I contact?
Every student enrolled at 海角破解版 is assigned an academic advisor to assist with scheduling, meeting degree requirements, and identifying academic and personal goals. To save time and tuition dollars, it is important that you talk to your advisor on a regular basis. It is your responsibility to schedule an appointment to speak with an advisor as early as possible after entering 海角破解版.
I cannot continue my enrollment in my course. How do I drop the course from my schedule?
If you need to drop a course and it is before the start of the term or during the add/drop period, you can drop the course on the 海角破解版 Student Portal or email Adrienne Sapp at asapp@flsouthern.edu in the Registrar鈥檚 Office. If you need to drop the course after the add/drop period is over, you will need to email Adrienne Sapp to be dropped from your course. Please note, dropping a course after the add/drop period will lead to financial implications. Please email Jackie Myers at jmyers2@flsouthern.edu in the Business Office if you drop a course after the add/drop period to determine your balance owed. Please reference the refund date schedule. Sign in to the and select the 鈥楽tudent鈥 tab at the top of the page. Next, select Financial Info on the side of the page. Then select CASHNet my Account Info. Finally, select the Course and Fee Statement.
Transcript Inquiries & Grades
How do I request a transcript from 海角破解版?
We offer online transcript ordering through our partner National Student Clearinghouse. The cost is $10 per copy and you will need a credit card and a valid email account. Transcripts will not be released if there is an outstanding balance on your 海角破解版 account. If you have questions, please contact the Registrar's Office at 863.680.3916.
How do I check my grades and print out my grade?
Login to the and select the 鈥楽tudents鈥 tab at the top of the page. On the Students webpage, find 鈥楪rade Report鈥 in the side navigation panel. Enter the term in which you need the grade for, then select 鈥榁iew Final Grade Report.鈥
Do I have to earn a certain grade in my courses?
Yes, a grade of 鈥淐鈥 or better must be earned in all courses.

IDs & Permits
How do I obtain my ID# if I have lost or misplaced it?
Please email the Office of Adult and Graduate Admission to request your 海角破解版 Student ID number.
How do I obtain a parking permit?
You will need a parking permit when visiting the campus. The cost is $40.00 per academic year when you register your car with Campus Safety. You will be required to provide information about your car, including the tag number. This information can be found in the under the Adult and Graduate tab once you are logged in.
How do I get an 海角破解版 ID?
To receive your free 海角破解版 ID card, under the same Adult and Graduate tab in the 海角破解版 Portal, read the guidelines and follow the link to upload your photo. By uploading a photo this lets our Campus Safety and Security Office know to create your ID card, which is typically available for pickup within 48 hours. Most students pick up their ID card while on campus to pick up their parking permit.
Housing
Is college housing available to me as an adult student?
Yes, but on a very limited basis. While we do not have dedicated housing for adult and graduate students, there are sometimes limited openings at a nearby hotel that we utilize for undergraduate housing overflow. For information on this option, please contact Residential Life at residencelife@flsouthern.edu or 863-680-4206.
What other options do I have?
The Lakeland Chamber of Commerce has provided a list of their members that offer housing options in the area. The college does not endorse any specific housing option and we advise that you research these facilities (or other opportunities) on your own.

Where can I purchase my books?
The campus bookstore. The bookstore is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For your convenience, you can . The Bookstore phone number is 863.680.4186. Please note, the bookstore may have alternate hours in the summer and during college breaks.

Do you have a financial assistance program for non-instructional employees who are employed by Polk County schools?
Florida Southern participates in the Greenhouse Program, a program created to assist Non-instructional employees of the Polk County School Board who are interested in completing their Bachelor鈥檚 Degree to go on and teach P-6, Physical Education, Exceptional Student Education, Middle School, and/or High School.
Which Florida Teacher Certification Exams (FTCE) do I need to complete?
All Elementary Education students must pass all sections on the General Knowledge Test (GKT), Professional Educator Test (PED), and Subject Area Exam (SAE) 鈥 Elementary K-6.
How long are the academic semesters?
The fall, spring, and summer semesters are 16 weeks long. However, each semester is divided into two 7-week terms (term A and term B).
Is there an internship?
Yes, there is a 70-school day internship which is completed in Polk County Public Schools during the last semester of the program and once all program requirements are met.
Is the program state-approved?
Yes, 海角破解版鈥檚 Elementary Education program is fully approved by the Florida Department of Education.
